Margo and I spent some time this morning and one of our adventures was a wagon ride...How could you resist that face?

Ted
It all started when the kids and grandkids decided to go on their walk along side the canal. I asked Maycin to bring back a couple of crawdads to put in the pond. So he and his dad did...3 of them. Maycin named them Tim, Ted and Mary.

Sadly, Maycin found one of them in our yard..."It's Ted!" Maycin explains.
Ted needed burying, so I dug a grave right then and there!
We marked his grave with a redwood sprig cross.
Don't Bug Me!
Maycin is a lover of bugs...and, he just wanted to check this beetle out. Margo was intrigued, but cautious. After the bug fell out of the cage and right on the side of where Margo was sitting, the yells, screams and cries followed. Maycin's mother convinced him to set him free...so he did, but not without one last stroke!
Wagons & Big Brothers
Margo is pretty happy about her wagon...in fact, she likes to just sit in it. But, thank goodness for big brothers that like to take little sisters for a ride!

Ready For a Walk
Maycin had his bug box, and was ready to go, but then decided not to go on the walk. It made me chuckle that he put the bug box around his neck.
Gilbert takes Margo for a walk/ride in her new used wagon! She was a happy camper!!
Dumpster Diving? You Bet!!!
Before my walk this morning, I asked Ashlee if she'd like to come since she was up so early. So she did. I told her I was just going on a short walk and the closer we got back home, I decided to continue and she agreed. As fortune has it, it was a good thing. It's garbage day today, and someone had this perfectly good wagon along side their garbage can. Our garbage man does not pick up the garbage outside of the cans as it's all automated now. They don't bother getting out of the cab. Funny thing, Ashlee has been looking for one of these on Craig's List and they don't lose their value and she was just going to buy a new one. But...not now!!! It just needed a little cleaning up.
As I see it, we just saved the garbage man stress over whether or not to get out of his cab (in which he wouldn't have) and we saved the previous owner the hassle of taking it to "garbage day" 2 months from now. AND, once Princess Peanut wakes, she is going to be one little happy Miss Muffit!

Taking a break with Maycman!
Maycman is learning to be a photographer! His photo below...notice me in the background?? He is learning about taking macro shots, and doing a very nice job at it.
the roses were very fragrant!
Enough of photography...time to climb trees! He actually got stuck and I told him he was kind of out of luck since I couldn't possible catch him. It was a strategically successful climb back down. Thank goodness!!
Then...Maycman spotted a butterfly!!
He's a good sneaker upper!
Success! He soon let it go, but was very satisfied he caught it! I'd say it was totally a great break from the demands of life!

Morning Surprise
We woke to a little cloud burst this morning that lasted about a minute. It was a nice surprise and cooled the air.
It didn't take long before it dissipated.
Now was a perfect time to go for a walk and take my camera...
These roses are almost ready to dry and wither away
I have forgotten the name of these, but they are in bloom all through our neighborhood. Yep, perfect morning for a walk!!

Penny's 5th Year Cancer Free Anniversary!
Penny was totally surprised!
Penny's daughter, Stephanie and her husband Ryan (along with friends, Lacee included) planned and put together a surprise celebration for my friend, Penny!
Penny's boyfriend, George, was also there (Many of her friends traveled from the Bay Area, including George and his son and daughter. But, Penny's best friend and her family traveled all the way from Mississippi!!)
The beautiful cake!
Gifts and the kids in background serving the cake!
Penny giving the okay sign for having a good time
Everyone signed the banner
Electric Slide anyone? (No, that is not Cliff...another guest, didn't catch his name)
Elma, Penny's mother, dancing for the first time in her life (with guest, Al). This lovely lady was having a great time! Sunday, July 18, 2010

Farmer Nanapants!
Today, Maycin told me that it was just like living on a farm because we have 2 nectarine trees, 1 orange tree, grapes, tomatoes, a clothes-line (I thought that was rather cute), a Nana in overalls and Gilbert added, "and a dog that sounds like a pig!" Right after I was told this I asked Maycin to take my picture, and he did!!!
